FOUNDER

Hello, I’m the headteacher of Lovell International School. I have recently moved from Bangkok to Pattaya because I truly believe in this international school project. The reason being, if you look at our logo it actually says everything about what our school is about. Right at the very center, you will find a heart, and that means that we put your child right at the center of every decision that we make in our school so that we provide the best possible education for each individual child. You will also see in our logo lots and lots of nature: rainbows, butterflies, and trees. The tree concept is extremely important to us. It’s about growth and connection to nature.

And we want our children, our students, to grow naturally, just as a tree grows—strong and benefiting the community. That’s what we’re all about: raising a generation of young people who are going to be successful, self-aware, and also beneficial to their local community.

HEADTEACHER

Ms. Karen Jones

Ms. Roie Baker

Hello, my name is Roie Baker and I come from Melbourne, Australia.
I chose to be a teacher at Lovell International School because I felt that the school’s values aligned with my own. For me, it’s important to respect the children and their natural interests and inquiries, creating an environment where they can thrive. My goal when teaching is to facilitate my students’ natural curiosity, guiding what we create both inside and outside the classroom. I like to ensure that the classroom is a representation of each individual child, making sure their voices are heard and respected as important stakeholders in their own education. For me, there is no greater joy than witnessing a child have a moment of wonder and amazement as they uncover a new discovery. I look forward to meeting you all.

TEACHER

Hello, everybody! My name is Zoey, I’m 30 years old, and I come from sunny South Africa. I’m so excited to be here today in Thailand and even more excited to be part of the Lovell family. This year at Lovell International School, I will be teaching the nursery level, ages three to four years old. I have previously taught this age, and I absolutely love it. The children are confident, learning, and developing beautiful skills, and they are also enthusiastic about everything! So, that really makes teaching them fun. My goal for the children is to instill a love of learning in their hearts, teach with kindness and compassion, and make my lessons fun, engaging, and, of course, have them learn something new and discover who they are, to become confident in who they are.

Ms. Lauren Watkins

Hi, my name is Lauren Watkins and I am from Jersey, the Channel Islands. I have chosen this school because the team is wonderful and the vision as a beginning school is really exciting and I can’t wait to be a part of it. My aim for teaching is to make sure I support all the children in flourishing in their self-confidence, their language, in all areas of the curriculum, so they can take on other areas in life with creativity, and resilience, and I am so excited to develop my own teaching strategies with the schools chosen style of teaching. I can’t wait to meet you all!

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONS FOR ALPHA GENERATION

Executive functions (EF); are defined as the cognitive abilities needed to control thoughts, emotions, and actions. EF helps children develop their acquired skills of teamwork, decision-making, problem solving, adaptability, and being aware of emotions.
When children have opportunities to develop executive functions, it results in self-regulation skills and lifelong benefits.

“ A school that grows like a tree house ”

Our campus is thoughtfully designed around the natural trees that have thrived on this land, emphasizing our commitment to environmental preservation by refraining from cutting any mature trees. This intentional approach not only imparts a genuine tree house ambiance to our school but also underscores our deep inspiration drawn from nature. As we aspire to create a nurturing environment, our design reflects the organic growt and interconnectedness observed in the natural world.
