Reception

Of course, we will never forget our natural roots – and how could we when we are surrounded by so much natural beauty?

I really wanted to take this chance to highlight our Forest School sessions and how meaningful they are for our children.

In this week’s session our Reception got to relax and focus their artistic minds in our garden before learning how to sculpt with natural clay, just as our ancestors did thousands of years ago.

Art is never something that can be confined to a classroom, and with shells and natural inspiration all around them the children were able to create some truly beautiful masterpieces.

No matter how the technology may change, we always want our students to stay rooted in the natural world they are blessed to have around them.

Primary School

Ms. Kanink is back this week and the children were absolutely delighted to get back into their forest school lessons!

You may remember that in TERM 1 one of primary’s first science topic was plants? Well, we always love to build these cross-curricular links between subjects and review and reinforce the learning!

In Forest School children got the chance to closely dissect, observe and analyse tomatoes – searching for their seeds and seeing the fascinating structure inside of them.

Through this hands-on experiment and practice children were able to better understand the natural world around us and take note of the different parts of a plant.

It’s always amazing to note Ms. Kanink’s creativity and knowledge with the simplest of everyday materials!
